Charles Ray Lane may have led a modest life but his impact on the lives around him was anything but simple. He was born in Sevierville, TN, April 7, 1948, but resided in White Pine most his life. He was a wealth of knowledge and a savant with anything mechanical. It was said that if Charlie could not fix it, you might as well throw it away. He worked as a mechanic for over 50 years. So, it’s no surprise he loved restoring and repairing old cars and instilled that passion in his youngest son. Charlie was an avid bass fisherman in his spare time. If that wasn’t enough to keep a man busy, he also carved out time to coach baseball. He was devoted to helping his community by serving as a reserve White Pine police officer, Jefferson County constable and a White Pine Volunteer Fire Fighter over the years.
Early July 5th, Charlie joined his wife Trish and oldest son Keith in eternity. He left behind his son Jeff (Amy) of Kingsport, his brother Harold (Dorothy) of White Pine and his treasured grandkids Izzy and Emmett.
An informal opportunity to celebrate Charlie’s life will be held at the White Pine Ruritan Building (1820 Maple St, White Pine, TN, 37890) on July 10, 2025, from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Light refreshments will be served as we fondly look back on his life well lived and share happy memories and stories.
