Carol Jean Lawson, 75, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 23, 1949, in Morristown, Tennessee, Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Carol retired after many years of dedicated service to the Jefferson County School System. Her commitment to her community, along with her caring spirit, earned her the respect and affection of everyone she encountered.
Carol’s greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth E. Lawson, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Carol is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sister Deborah Knight (Gary); niece Dawn Helton (Robbie) and children, daughters Alison Hall (Gordon) and Melissa Robin Parker (James); son Russell Lawson (Melissa); as well as her grandchildren, Joshua Parker, Sara Kaitlyn Parker, Paytn Williford, Paxtyn Lawson, April Parrott, Bridgette Kidd, Alexander Hall, Mackenzie Skinner, Noah Hall, Ethan Hall, and Elizabeth Hall. As well as her great-grandchildren, Rylee Parker, Oaklyn Stroup, and Henley Williford.
Carol was known for her generosity, infectious smile, and unwavering love. She cherished every moment spent with her family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was the heart of her family and will be dearly missed. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Caris Health Care for their loving care and special attention. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date. Carol’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
