Braxton Eugene "Brad" Starnes, Sr., age 72 of Dandridge, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on the morning of Friday, November 28, 2025.
He was "all-in" with everything he did. Although described as a workaholic; he was also a devoted family man. He loved and was loved by his work family as well; retiring from a career as a project manager for Duke Energy. After moving to Tennessee and settling on a farm in Dandridge; he remained in contact with several of his former coworkers over the years.
Brad loved being outdoors, planting trees, gardening, and working the land with his tractors. In addition, he enjoyed his 1957 Chevrolet Nomad, motorcycles, family vacations, and going out to eat on regular occasion. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories made.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Lib Starnes; and son, Braxton "Brack" Starnes, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Tammy Starnes; children, Heather (Anthony) Bell, Clayton (Nikita) Starnes; grandchildren, Keaton & Aubrey Bell; and brother, Joe (Pansy) Starnes; special friends, Joe (Betty) Outlaw, & Kenny (Joni) Davis; and his financial advisor, Chris (Ashley) Turner. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Tennova Jefferson Memorial Hospital and Gentiva Hospice; with a great deal of love for his nurse, Taylor Sexton.
In accordance with his wishes, Brad will be cremated with a private Celebration of Life to take place in Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests going out to eat at your favorite restaurant, or planning a trip with your family.
