Barbara Thomas Mingie

BARBARA THOMAS MINGIE, age 79, of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away at home on September 9, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Luther and Clara Moore Thomas; sons, James Brock, Jr., and George Brock; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by husband, Jerry Wayne Mingie; children, Margaret Brock Hawkins, Betty Brock Smith, Richard (Ricky) Brock and David Ray Brock; step-son, Paul Mingie; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters. Many thanks to Samantha Garrett, June Radford and Covenant Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Covington officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 11:15 a.m. Thursday morning at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville for an 11:30 a.m. graveside service.
