Anthony R. “Tony” Gaut, age 76, of Dandridge passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home. He was raised in the Chestnut Hill community and attended Maury High School. Following his school days, he joined the United States Navy where he served in the Vietnam conflict and retired after 20 years of service as an arc welder. After his service with the Navy, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his final retirement. Tony was an avid antique collector and enjoyed hunting Indian relics.  He is proceeded in death by his parents, Rhea Hance Gaddis and stepfather, Glenn Gaddis and brother, Larry Gaut. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Gaut; sons, Anthony R. (Alyson) Gaut, David (Angie) Gaut; stepdaughters, Laura Borders, Caryn (Jeremy) Armstrong; grandchildren, Ashney Patoka, Bret Gaut, Amarys Gaut, Addie Gaut, Jordan Gaut, Lorren Gaut and step grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Alyssa, Anabelle, and Tabatha and thirteen great-grandchildren.   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 6:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Hartsell McCurry officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm prior to the service. Graveside interment service with military honors will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024, 11:00am at Hills Union Cemetery.
