Alan Rogers, age 77 of White Pine, Went to his heavenly home on July 28, 2026 after many years of illness. He was born on July 4, 1949 to Earl and Lucille Rogers of Lenoir City, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucille, his brothers, Jack, Kenneth, Cleo, Marvin. Michael and Jerry, his sisters, JoAnn Turpin and Brenda Atkins. He is survived by his wife, Gail, they met in Australia when Alan was on R&R leave from Vietnam. They married January 16, 1970, his son, David and his wife Crystal, daughter, Patti Porter and her husband, Chad, grandchildren, Christina, Richi, Savanah, Erica, Maddie, Erin and Amelia; great-grandchildren, Lily, Alexis, Raiden, Rowan and Raelynn, brothers, Billy and Jeff, sisters, Thelma Young, Mary Arthur and Betty Farmer along with several nieces and nephews. Alan served his country in the US Army with three tours of duty in Vietnam Special Forces MACV SOG and was highly decorated by a grateful nation. After his discharge he worked for US Fish and Wildlife Service as a federal law enforcement officer. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, especially turkeys. He was saved at the age of 14. He surrendered to preach the gospel and was ordained in August of 1985 at Clintview Missionary Baptist Church. Alan was a man of character and quiet strength, very protective of his family. Always ready to help or give advice. He will be missed so much by his family, especially his grandchildren who dearly loved their papaw. A private family memorial service will be held.
