Jimmie Ann Jackson Shelnutt

Jimmie Ann Jackson Shelnutt, age 88, passed away on 11/14/2018 at her home in Little Rock, AR. Jimmie was born on a farm in Gratis, GA, and grew up there and in Monroe, GA. She was 9th in a family of ten children and is the last of the Jackson kids to pass. At 18 years old, she married the love of her life, Glenn Shelnutt, and they enjoyed 60 years together before his passing. Jimmie and Glenn lived a few places, eventually settling in Jefferson City, TN in 1959. Jimmie Ann was first a mother and homemaker, but later became the City Recorder for Jefferson City, and enjoyed serving her city for many years. Throughout it all, Jimmie Ann's priority was her family. She spoiled her children rotten, doted over her grandchildren, and was overjoyed to be able to meet her great-grandchildren. Her door was always open to everyone. After moving to Little Rock, AR, four years ago, Jimmie made many wonderful friends at her apartment facility: Andover Place. She needed help in the past few years, and was surrounded by a devoted group of caregivers that loved and gave her the best care possible. Jimmie Ann is predeceased by her father, Johnie Noble Jackson, and mother, Maudie Belle Wafford Jackson. She is also predeceased by her beloved husband, Glenn; her six sisters, Hester Inez, Mary Minnelle, Willie Lytle, Bertha Maude, Eddie Jean, and Helen Virginia; her three brothers, Joseph Noble, Charles Wofford, and John Russell; 14 brother and sister in-laws; and grandson, Cooper Chapman Shelnutt. Jimmie Ann will be sorely missed by her son, Allen Shelnutt & wife, Cornelia; daughter, Ann Shelnutt; grandchildren, Jenny Silcox, Joe Allen and Jen Bloesch, Daniel Silcox & wife, Rose, Jackson Shelnutt; great-grandchildren, Payton Silcox, Isaiah Goshman, Jonas Goshman, & Jacob Silcox; sister-in-law, Jimmie Dean Jackson, brother-in-law, Jerry Shelnutt & sister-in-law, Peggy Shelnutt. She is also survived by chosen family, Steven & Nikki Patty and children, Anslee & Atticus, Doug Ballinger, Randy Sellers, Molly Martinez & a host of caregivers who she relied upon and adored. Jimmie Ann is being buried at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with her husband. There will be a private service and burial by Farrar Funeral Home.
