JAMES MICHAEL “MIKE” PURKEY, age 73, of Talbott, TN passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Morristown Hamblen healthcare System. Preceded in death by father, Jack Purkey and mother, Hazel Purkey; son, Tony Purkey. He is survived by daughters, Sherrie Harris (Mike), Christy Walker (Bill Mullins), Stephanie Nix (Jeff); special friend, Faye Powell; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Janie Purkey, Jennifer Purkey, Karen Catsimanes; brother, Chris Purkey; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2020 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu or flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
