Wayne Francis Oberg

WAYNE FRANCIS OBERG, age 73, of Dandridge, TN formerly of Colorado Springs, CO passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 1, 2014 at his home. He was born September 1, 1941 in Kewanee, IL the son of the late William and Lillian (White) Oberg and was preceded in death by his sister, Karlene Rexroat. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where served in the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3380 and American Legion Post # 113. Wayne was a retired journeyman tool and die machinest for Goodrich Mfg. and moved to Dandridge, TN in 2003. He was a member of the Limona Village Chapel United Methodist Church of Brandon, FL and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and backpacking. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Steinberg Oberg; sons, Richard (Kelly) Oberg, Daniel Suffern and Phil Suffern; daughters, Wendy Hogue and Melanie Kelly ; grandchildren, Christian and Victoria Oberg, Jamie Stigall, Megan Stigall, Joshua Suffern, Trisha Suffern, Adam Hogue, Courtney Houge, Zachary Suffern and Matthew Suffern; brother, Warren Oberg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the V.F.W. Post # 3380 c/o Commander Hudson, 2134 Teardrop Circle, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends, Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services.
