Maggie Horner Gilliam

MAGGIE HORNER GILLIAM, age 89, of Talbott, TN went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2015 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. She was a former member of Mt. Vale Church of God, where she had served as clerk, president of Y.P.E., and the Ladies Willing Workers, teacher, and was an active member of the Ladies Ministry until her health prohibited her from doing. She was presently a member of New Vision Ministries. Preceded in death by loving husband of 48 years, Ralph Gilliam; son, Ricky Gilliam; grandson, Joey Gilliam; parents, Roy and Hannah Horner; brothers, Stanley, Mack, DeWitt, Thomas Dewey, William, Roy, Jr., James and J. W.; sister, Ann Mills. She is survived by granddaughter, Danyel (Darrell) Price of Whitesburg, TN; great-grandchildren, Austin, Julie and Calli; sisters, Rosa (Robert) Kinder of Jefferson City, Edna (Stewart) Bennett of Brooklet, GA; brothers, Ray (Rosemary) Horner of Morristown, TN, Haskell (Mary) Horner of Louisville, KY; daughter-in-law, Susan Gilliam; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Collins and Rev. T. H. Ferrell officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home to proceed to Ebenezer Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
