Janet Reed Carpenter

Janet Reed Carpenter, age 88, passed away at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Systems on Monday, September 1, 2014. She was the oldest living member at Point Pleasant Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Felix Carpenter, and 2 sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Chambers of Morristown; son, Ronald Carpenter of White Pine; grandsons, Mark Timothy Rice, Dana Christian Rice, Ronald Scott Carpenter and wife Frances; great-grandchildren, Alex Christian Rice, Timothy Christian Rice, and Ethan Scott Carpenter; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, 7:00pm in the chapel of Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, with the Rev. James Hance officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm prior to the service. Graveside interment service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, 11:00am in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery at 10:45am. Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine is in charge of the arrangements. 865-674-2441
