DONALD ELLSWORTH ETTER, age 77, of Morristown, TN and formerly of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. He was a member of Martha Davis Baptist Church, where he was a former member of the choir. He was a veteran of the US Army. Preceded in death by son, Derrick Etter; father, Rev. Charles Etter and mother, Gertrude Baker Smith Etter; sisters, Elizabeth Mills, Mattie Rogers Carter, Ada Williams, Ethel Collins; brother, Lincoln Etter. Survived by loving wife of 33 years, Faye Hicks Etter; daughters, Jennifer Sawyer of Georgia, Angela Issac of Dayton, OH; stepchildren, Bernadine Widdiffield, Rita Kitts, Marty Dockery, Vanessa Bell, Eric Dockery, Marsha Thompson, Angela Dockery and Marcus Dockery; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Mills, Jr., Rev. Roger Mills, Rev. Bernice Osborne and Rev. Nathaniel Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Repass will be held following the interment service at Martha Davis Baptist Church. The family will requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the funeral home toward the funeral expenses.
